Connecting WUUK devices to your Alexa smart home devices is a simple process. Leverage the WUUK Alexa Skill, in order to be able to direct your WUUK device(s) with voice commands, as well as watch the live videos from them if you have an Echo Show or Echo Spot (Alexa devices with screens).
However, during the process, some users may encounter some unexpected issues. And we try to list a few possible problems and the corresponding solutions for your reference.
Note that Alexa integration and its service are based on the connection of Alexa Server or Alexa devices. Generally, the setup or discovery issues are due to the network connection issue on Alexa devices or the delay or outage of Alexa Servers, rather than on WUUK devices or its servers.
Applied Situations & Troubleshooting
I. I cannot find WUUK Skill on Alexa APP.
The WUUK Alexa Skill is available in stores for all countries. However, because the command can only be in English, you need to do the following adjustments to find the WUUK skill in Alexa Skill store.
- Search "WUUK" in Alexa Skill store in English (change the language settings in Alexa Skill store)
- Please set the device language to English, in order for Alexa to correctly recognize your voice command.
In the Alexa app -> More (the most right icon) -> Settings -> Device Settings
- Enter https://alexa.amazon.com/ into a web browser and try completing the setup there.
For more information, kindly refer to Get your WUUK devices to work with Alexa.
II. When I scan devices on Alexa APP, it finds no new device for adding.
- Check for device or setup issues
- Make sure you've entered the correct login username and password in the WUUK app. Mobile devices' default is capitalizing the first letter of a word when typing in a field box. If your password doesn't start with a capital letter, make sure the mobile app doesn't accidentally capitalize it. Also, make sure there's no blank space before or after the username.
- Enter https://alexa.amazon.com/ into a web browser and try completing the setup there.
- Restart your Alexa device and WUUK device.
- Disable and re-enable the skill for your WUUK device in the Alexa app.
- Disconnect the WUUK device using the Disable option in the Alexa app. Then, re-enable your WUUK device again.
- Connect to the same Wi-Fi network
Your Alexa device should be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the WUUK device.
You can check or change the Wi-Fi settings in the Alexa app:
- Select the Devices icon
- Select your device
- Select Change next to Wi-Fi Network.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update your Wi-Fi information.
Plus, a 2.4 GHz connection travels farther at lower speeds, while 5 GHz frequencies provide faster speeds at a shorter range. And WUUK devices only work with 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band connections. It's recommended to connect the WUUK devices and your Alexa devices to the same 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi for a relatively stable connection. You could also move the Alexa devices much closer to your router.
- Turn on SSDP / UPnP on your router
Use your computer to update your router settings. If you need more information, your router manufacturer is in the best position to help.
- Discover your devices again
Try asking Alexa to discover your smart home devices again by saying, "Discover my devices."
