If your WUUK Smart Sock appears offline or disconnected in the app, don't worry. The issue is usually caused by one of two connection problems:
- The base station is disconnected from Wi-Fi.
- The smart sock is disconnected from the base station.
This guide will help you identify the cause and get your device back online.
Scenario 1: The Smart Sock Is Disconnected from the Base Station
If the smart sock cannot connect to the base station, there are several possible causes:
The Smart Sock Is Too Far Away
The smart sock communicates with the base station through a wireless connection. If the distance between them is too great, the connection may be lost.
What to do:
- Move the smart sock closer to the base station.
- Avoid placing large obstacles, walls, or electronic devices between the sock and the base station.
The Smart Sock Has Low Battery
A depleted battery can cause the smart sock to go offline.
What to do:
- Place the smart sock on the base station for charging.
- Wait until the sock has sufficient battery power before using it again.
- Check whether the charging sign shows that charging is in progress on WUUK Baby app.
Scenario 2: The Base Station Is Disconnected from Wi-Fi
If the base station loses its connection to Wi-Fi, the app may show the device as offline.
Step 1: Verify That the Base Station Has Power
First, make sure the base station is powered on and operating normally.
What to do:
- Confirm that the power adapter is properly connected.
- Check whether the base station screen is lit up.
Step 2: Refresh the App
Sometimes the connection status displayed in the app may not be up to date.
What to do:
- Open the WUUK Baby app.
- Pull down on the dashboard screen to refresh the device status.
Step 3: Check Your Wi-Fi Network
If the base station has power but still appears offline, the Wi-Fi connection may be unstable.
What to do:
- Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is working properly.
- If possible, restart your router.
- Review your router's wireless settings.
- Some routers limit the number of connected devices, so make sure there is available capacity for the base station.
Step 4: Reboot the Base Station
A simple reboot can often restore connectivity.
What to do:
- Unplug the base station from power.
- Wait a few seconds.
- Plug it back in and allow it to restart completely.
Step 5: Check for Firmware Updates
Outdated firmware may occasionally cause connectivity issues.
What to do:
- Open the WUUK Baby app.
- Check whether a new firmware update is available for the smart sock or the base station.
- Install any available updates and try connecting again.
Step 6: Re-Pair the Device After Wi-Fi Changes
If you recently changed your Wi-Fi network name, password, router, or wireless settings, the base station may need to be paired again.
What to do:
- Run through the pairing process in the WUUK Baby app.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the device to your Wi-Fi network.
