Self-diagnose:
If your camera gets triggered every 2 to 5 minutes (you can find the clue in Recent Events), that'd definitely NOT a general use case and you probably set the Motion sensitivity too high, and that causes the battery quickly to drain.
Some users might get confused by Motion alerts and Motion settings.
If the shift is toggled off on the dashboard, it means the motion alerts is off, instead of the Motion settings.
Turning off Motion Alerts = Do not notify when motion happens and is recorded, but the camera is still working to capture the motion.

Instead, Motion Settings is a page that looks like this, and it can be accessed from
Gear Icon next to your doorbell's name -> Motion
