Connecting the WUUK Base station to the Internet is a straightforward process.
The only thing you need to do is to connect the WiFi router and the WUUK Base Station via Ethernet cable, and make sure the indicator light of the WUUK Base Station turns green. After that, have your smartphone join the same WiFi to which WUUK Base Station is connecting, then complete the rest of the pairing process on the WUUK APP.
Note:
1, The router has to be able to emit WiFi signal/bands. Some routers provided by your cable carrier, such as Xfinity, AT&T, etc., might not have built-in WiFi function, so it could not support the WUUK Base Station even though the router has LAN port to connect Ethernet cables.
2, The WUUK Base Station requires ethernet cable to connect it with WiFi router all the time during usage.
However, on some occasions, users will connect multiple routers to expand the original network range or build a new network (sub-network) under the original network. At this point, though the WUUK base station has Internet access, some unexpected situations still may happen.
Below lists a few currently widely-used Network setup ways and corresponding tips for your reference:
1. AP Mode
For AP mode, the original router cannot provide Wi-Fi signals, so it is necessary to add a new wireless router (Mesh Unit, Gateway router) as a wireless AP to provide wireless points.
- Make sure to connect the WUUK base station to the new router (Mesh Unit, Gateway router) that provides wireless access to devices
- Go to phone Settings, select WUUK APP and enable Local Network
- Make sure to put the router, WUUK base station, and your phone within 1 meter
2. WDS (Bridging Mode)
Connecting the routers via WDS, you could set the same WiFi names and SSIDs or set them differently.
- Kindly connect the WUUK base station to the original router
- Go to phone Settings, select WUUK APP and enable Local Network
- Make sure to put the router, WUUK base station, and your phone within 1 meter
- If the problem remains, warmly suggest setting a different password or the name to differentiate the Wi-Fi to have another try.
3. Add a new Wireless router via Ethernet cable
Using the ethernet cable to connect the LAN to WAN Port to add a new Wi-Fi router, each router can separately set a Wi-Fi with different names and passwords.
- Connect the WUUK base station to the router you designated for the WUUK Base Station to use, and have your mobile phone join the same WiFi network the router builds
- Go to phone Settings, select WUUK APP and enable Local Network
- Make sure to put the router, WUUK base station, and your phone within 1 meter
